unfortunately not, if you are caught without a license and you are a resident, you are in trouble. However, i am unsure how much trouble precisely!

Them having a licence means they can drink their own. Technically, as a resident, you need a licence to drink alcohol...period.

Between the whole MP/VA thing, the Ozzie (or Kiwi) lass getting jailed etc etc.. It would not surprise me if they started looking more strictly at the alcohol crimes, but, as you say, staying in your own home and guzzling some vino gives them no reason to come knocking your door down.....

exactly, we rarely go out, never drink and drive and never have parties so I think we are pretty safe with our stash from Barracuda

This is where it gets really silly.

If your friends are non muslim and even if they have a licence and you were drinking in their house and for whatever reason the police came, your non muslim friend could be prosecuted for enticing a muslim to drink, happened to someone i Know not so long ago, incredible i know

so what about Muslims that go out and openly drink...what would happen if the police came to a hotelbar...would they lose their license?
