Al Khobar accommodation

I have found it difficult to find out info on accommodation costs on compounds in Khobar. So I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to how much a 2 or 3 bed place would cost in a relarively large compound ? I have heard about Oasis or Al Bhutan which has the school on its grounds which would be useful as kids could walk to school.

Salary package is not great but is better than nothing which is the case now.
75,000 GBP/yr with no added schooling or accommodation allowances. Car is provided. Schooling I know would cost about 13 - 14,000 GBP /yr for two but am hoping cost of living would be cheap so we would manage a reasonable sort of lifestyle.

All info welcome.

A 3 bed will cost you SR150,000-200,000 in a decent western compound, but getting a space is a different matter. Unless things have changed a lot in the last 2 years you will struggle to get into one of the nicer compounds. Sorry.

My advice: Live in Bahrain. Cheaper, better housing, better for family and the list goes on. Commuting to Khobar is a piece of piss.

I know quite a few people who live there, and it's not as bad as the press make it out that's for sure. Is it paradise? No of course not, but neither is Saudi. In fact Saudi is pretty much the opposite of paradise..

Anyway there are a few threads covering the Bahrain situation and living there so you should probably spend some time reading those and also ask some questions of the people who are there...

Bachelor Accommodation in Jubail

Hi. I'm looking for info re above, does the 'Rezayat Oasis' compound in Jubail still exist? If so what is the monthly cost, full board, for a one bedroom unit?

Are there similar compounds in Jubail offering bachelor accommodation in Jubail?
If so what is the monthly cost?

Appreciate any info, thanks.
