Re: Al ain Hilton
I stayed there once for a HCT conference.
The hotel is cheap and cheerful. It has a great leisure pool for the kids and a nice outdoor bar/seating area. Otherwise, it's v. average. We stayed at the Intercon the year before and I much preferred it. The intercon has a great Asian/fusion restaurant, a buzzy pub, a decent Indian restaurant and a nightclub. Either way, both hotels are very cheap - Intercon is only about 1km from the Hilton so I guess you can use your points at the Hilton and enjoy the best of both. It's so nice to get away from Dubai sometimes and I find the drive to Al Ain to be very pretty and relaxing.
Have fun.

Hoochie Mama's summary says it all in terms of the actual hotel!

Andrew,
Must have been the airshow....rates there are still under 400 regular season (and down to 200 in summer). It's far better to call up and negotiate with them at any rate (pun intended).
Al Ain is quirky and fun. But it's more fun to go camping there than anything else. The red sand, the great dunes...makes for a perfect camping spot and you would not believe the colours when the sun goes down - it really is magical.

Stay at the Accor on jebel Hafeet instead, spectacular views and pretty nice considering is cheap as chips
