Thanks Meow / NorthernLad.

Haven't been looking at pensions but assume it's probably a good idea.

What's the alternative to those long term non-resident options flogged by half-wits?

As you know perfectly well, the alternative is talking to me!

Shorter term plans with more flexibility in your case. If you have a significant lump sum then there are vehicles that have long term tax advantages for Brits, especially if they return to the UK.

In that case, is it not just better to put cash into a savings account?

No. Interest rates are very low and you have the potential to earn more, over the longer term, from equity-linked investment. Ideally you build up a cash lump sum (equivalent to 3-6 months outgoings minimum) and then look at investing.

I'm with you. Would 14.8 million dizzles be enough? Recruitment is booming at the moment...

Isn't that against forum rules?

If anyone has received unsolicited PMs from another member touting for business I ask that you forward me said PMs so I can take the appropriate action.

Many thanks
