Re: Adam Jones aged 10 kidnapped in Qatar
Your headline is rather alarmist bearing in mind that the Courts awarded custody to the grandmother as opposed to the lad being physically snatched as your headline would suggest. Nevertheless I have still signed the petition.

As I read it the family tricked them into coming to Qatar and then filed a case against them so the kid couldn't leave the country..

If the mother had employed a decent lawyer, the judge probably wouldn't have ruled in favour of the grandmother. Hardly kidnapping.

I don't think a decent lawyer would have helped too much. The mother was up against tribalism and sharia law in an Islamic country - no chance.

Taken away from his mother and she's been refused to see him since October 2nd. Most people would call that a kidnapping.
My first thought is that the child is presumably a British citizen and carries a British passport, no? I'm sure the embassy is involved somehow, but I have a feeling their influence is limited. That's why the petition is going around for it's the emir/sheikh/sultan/grand poompah that can say yes or no. This is a perfect example of how if things go to the crapper for you in the Mid East, they get really, really, really bad really quickly. |

N. if I say to you 'oh I hope your lumpy head gets better' then thats moral support, but signing an online petition means nowt. In fact it gives people flase hope, so its worse than nowt. |
