Default Accommodation available in Abu Dhabi

For those who are flat hunting, saw these advertised just now in Spinney's:

2 bed flat, central location Dh 110,000

Large room with private bathroom, sharing with Canadians. Didn't say how much.

Why sharing is illegal in UAE? I still don't understand.

If they can allow this, I think it will reduce the rental significantly...

its illegal because you are subletting and this illegal in order to share one big house you must be of the same family. And yes if you were allowed to share a car, or a house it would make life a lot easier considering the amount of cars on the road and the shortage of housing. But this does already happen 'illegally'. Now the RTA in dubai allow you to car pool but you need to register the names of such persons in the car..! And because of the shortage of labour camps, then now most of the houses in kca are 'sharing'...! but they are cracking down on such things in 'other' areas.

Thanks for the explanation.

So many problems about sharing. Conclusion, it's safer to rent a 1bed apartment by myself, and own a car by myself too.
