Abu Dhabi vs. Doha?
I'm not sure this comparison has been made in this group. I'm interested in hearing pros and cons from the resident experts. We're contemplating moving to (likely) one of these two cities with two kids next March.
Thanks in advance.

My vote would definitely be Abu Dhabi, not least because of the difficulty getting exit and re-entry visas in Qatar.

Well, I've only been to Doha twice - once as a kid and once a couple of years back - so there may be people on the site that live there that would think differently BUT...
from what i've seen and heard, it is pretty dull and uninspired. Infrastructure is less developed, a small number of places to go and very conservative...
AD on the other hand is, for this part of the world, quite a pretty city, no real traffic problems, relaxed pace of life compared to Dubai, has a slightly larger selection & variety of nightspots, leisure clubs and malls than Doha - and if you really crave city life, Dubai is reasonably close. Also week-end breaks to Al-Ain, Fujeirah, Muscat, Liwa are feasible - apart from camping in the desert, not sure that Doha has many driveable destinations???
It's an easy city to live in - I'm very happy here!

Abu Dhabi Still, Doha has not developed enough for living, working, and schooling. 5-10 years later would be fine I don’t know how easy it in other GCC country, but getting exit permit and re-entry is not difficult in Qatar.
