Default Abu Dhabi Tourist Guide course and subsequent employment

Hi
tempted to sign up for the AD tourist guide course - I love showing people around the UAE, and friends are always telling me I should be a guide.

So, assuming I do the course, and I would love feedback from anyone who has done it,what's my employment options afterwards?

Do I need to form a company to work? Or can I work on a freezone? Or???

Any advice much appreciated, thanks

I was under the impression all the Emirati tour guides offer their services as volunteers. And I must say (from my limited experience at the F1) they do a very fine job, are extremely polite and knowledgeable, are exquisitely turned out, and are excellent ambassadors for their country.

Good luck, though

Taqa are the nominated Emirati tour guides, and as Bahtatboy says, they do a fine job - have met them at the F1 and also worked alongside them at the Film Festival.

You may be able to get work with a company such as Arabian Adventures who offer tours or work for someone such as TDIC at one of their resorts.

Good luck.
