Abu Dhabi: Effective today (December 13), landlords and property managers in the emirate of Abu Dhabi cannot increase annual rents by more than five per cent.
This means that the rental cap outlined in the Law No 20 of 2006, which was abolished in 2013, has once again been reinstated in the capital.
A statement sent by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) specified that annual rent increases that are specified in tenancy contracts cannot exceed five per cent each year

Some of us are paying way beneath the current going rate. We were bracing ourselves for a 25% hike in 10 days!
