Walk
Free bus
1h15min train
Walk or Bus + Walk to office.
Whole thing was borderline 2hrs and totally hateful.
Best commute I have ever had is here, 80ish paces at the moment.

I recall two low points. One coming off a motorbike on a drizzling day just outside of a petrol station on a mini roundabout. And another walking home in mid jan 2008 when it was dark, cold and driving wind was blowing fine rain into my face. That time, I said to myself... this is never going to happen again, Abu Dhabi next month.

UK weather builds character. A London commute only makes you a stronger and better man.

I actually have no interest living in London again for similar reasons. Tiresome commutes on packed buses and tube carriages. Who misses that moist, warm atmosphere when crowded with your fellow commuters breathing into your face on a damp and rainy day?

I don't miss the commute from Clapham into central London on the Northern line. I can't think of any other commute as cramped and busy.
It has developed me to being alot more bolshy with smaller spaces on public transport though!

Just awful places to be, tubes. Regardless of temperature, season or how busy, they're just rank.

I’ve just spent a week in derby - it rains there almost everyday anyway, but add on the cold and darkness and people are truely miserable. Mini-Millhouse has already declared he will move away and is targeting South America as he likes the women there. He’s 10, I feel like I’ve trained him well.

January is the worst month in the UK. Cold, dark, miserable. Christmas and New Year a fading memory (other than on the bank balance). It just drags. At least in February you get a bit of light returning, and it's a short month. March and April...Spring arrives. I do like proper seasons.

She's got bot if it's who I'm thinking of.
Sesaons are totally underrated. That being said, I greatly appreciate that for pretty much 355-360 days a year here I don't have to think about what to wear or if I need a jacket or a brolly or etc.
