Abu Dhabi Opticians

I cant find any record of this in the archives so will try the crowd.

Mrs DB needs to see a decent optician (s'cuse the pun) in AD but doesn't trust the shopping mall spec shops. Is she right or has anyone got other recommendations?

Not sure about AUH but Moorfields (Healthcare City) in Dubai is the only one I would use. (I have Ophthalmic Problems too). Before Moorfields arrived, the Ophthalmic Department at Welcare Hospital was also very good - But most of the staff have now moved to Moorfields - Quite a surprise when I went for the first consultation.

I had some tests done previously in the UK when on leave, and Moorfields here had access to the whole thing, with no need for retesting. They will also issue you with a correct prescription, which you can get made-up.

Contact Brains...he's had laser surgery recently and saw a AD based Optician for his consultation.

If you just need a basic eye test the mall opticians aren't actually that bad usually.

And so has one of my colleagues, in Dubai. Double and blurred vision for 4 weeks now, no apparent solution... Internet wisdom puts success rate at between 65% and 95%.

any of the places in the shops are good, al jaber in ad mall. i used pearle in wadha mall but think its now changed into a vision express. if you want more then go to the hospital. i had to get my ds done and as a child you must go to the hospital for the examination so went to new al noor, very very thorough all for 30 dhs.

Thanks all

Looks like either the malls, or hospital if she can be bothered.
