I cannot decide if you are up really late after too much champagne or up really early darling? Either way I feel we are 'pissing in the wind' on this thread......

Re: Abu Dhabi Move - Questions
I tend to cook in bulk then freeze. For instance I can make a great chickpea curry, enough for 12 portions and freeze what I don't use. I make lots of soups and freeze them too. Buy most of my fruit and veg once a week at the market in Mena as prices are low and quality is high. Take my own lunch into work most days.
So a typical day for me would be cereal or fruit for breakfast. Homemade sandwich (Arabic bread, so cheap at AED 1.5 for a pack of 5) and fruit for lunch. Pre-prepared homemade meal at night.
Eating healthy is cheap out here, just a case of being prepared. Otherwise you end up at ADNOC Oasis or Spinneys where they pull your pants down.

So far every supermarket's veg has been either:
Crap
Some crap, some good
Some good, some crap
Best we've found was in Hyper-Panda believe it or not.

I live in Abu Dhabi and the veg market is right next to the port. Quality is good, as are the prices.

Re: Abu Dhabi Move - Questions
Guys I appreciate all the replies but we have signed the contract and are set to arrive in March. Yu on live once and we are only 28 with no kids, mortgage, debt etc back home. I used the spreadsheet and with 75k apartment, 2 phones, 1 car, drinking and going out at 6 times per month we still have 2,500 AED per month to spare. I know it will vary month to month but we have plenty of savings and worse case scenario we go back home after 1 year with are heads held high as we gave it a go and will have no regrets.
The way i see it is im a western educated guy with a good degree and 6 years experience working for a multinational. I must get something, i WILL get something even if it takes 6 months. They are paying for the re-location, putting us up in a hotel for a month and because she will be working for a bank they will lend her the money for car, rent etc upfront and charge 0% interest!
I know its a risk leaving 2 very good jobs but hey everything u do in life its a risk, sometimes they pay off, sometimes they dont!

That would be a nightmare but something we have thought about. That is why we will be looking for somewhere which takes 2 cheques to mitigate this risk
On a separate note can someone provide me with some recruitment agency names that i can google and call directly as it seems like applying online has done nothing for me for the last number of months!
