Default abandoned car

Hey.
I've been given the keys to a car that the owner walked away from when they went back to their own country about a year ago. They hadn't finished the bank payments and the bank were contacted but were completely indifferent to the payments being taken over, but have never made an effort to come and get the car. It has been sitting in our building carpark for about a year gathering dust. Does anybody know the procedure for reigistering it abandoned and then disposing of it so I could change the registration into my name? I see the DM do it by taking abandoned cars to their parking lot and then auctioning them in 6 months.
cheers.

Or speak to one of the goras at 4x4 Motors or one of the Western used car dealers- they may be able to help. Tell them it's a Kia Sportage or something otherwise they'll be round there themselves!
