Default 6th Form in Abu Dhabi

Hi all - well it looks like we are moving out to Abu Dhabi after my daughter has done her GCSEs this year. Can anyone give me any first hand info of kids doing A levels at British school or al Yasmina? thanks

6th form is new to yasmina next year i believe, bsak has had their sixth for a good few years now, and is going from strength to strength. it will depend if you can get in.

Mabsy - Busybee did her A level in English at a 6th form here. Why take the risk?

i would go for bsak as its established, yasmina new next year. but it depends on where you will be living, if you are going to go to kca(off island) then yasmina is so much easy to drive to.

al reef commute to bsak at rush hours is like 25/30 mins whereby you can do yasmina in like 10 mins. a lot of the traffic issues are at raha if you come in on channel st, if you come down on mussafah road then the problems usually start at between the bridges and mussafah bridge.

and i really did go to grange hill, they filmed it at our school and we were extras etc.

I would be concerned about it too. Have they published their GCSE results yet?

BSAK is a very good school but they haven't been offering A levels for too long and there may be a limited choice compared to UK but if you have checked subject availability it should be OK.

Odd. I never pinned you down as a Londoner. For some reason I thought you were Scottish.

they say that the alevels subject as pretty good for schs out here at bsak, and they have been going a few years now. al yasmina is new this year so they will be building it up from scratch, it takes a while, i know in the senior sch they are only going to be adding spanish to the curriculum next time and its been open what 3 years, so it takes time. i do think the choice is better in uk but then if they offer the subjects you want then it doesnt matter does it.
