The 5 day working week.

Does anyone know if the 5 day working week is now standard across all the Gulf countries, i.e Qatar and Oman, or does in only apply in the UAE?
Thanks.

Thanks.

it doesn't necessarily apply to the UAE, I know plenty of men who are working a five and a half day week. Depends on the employer I think.

Thanks for that. That could be a bit of a bummer!

I would just check with the prospective employer what the hours are etc, I know in construction the hours seem to longer. Good luck !

The contractor that I used to work with (not for) used to do 7am to 7pm, 6 days a week. The half day thing was always a gimmick, because work was until 2.30pm and then by the time I got home it was about 5pm (near Sharjah). Ended up being a full day.

But the 5 day week is a lot more attractive. Nothing like winding down on a Thursday afternoon.
