My gran lives in Cookridge and we lived in a small village on the other side of Leeds. Every Sunday we drove past Kirkstall Abbey on our way to see her and yet I never once went to walk around the grounds or look at the ruins, which just seems insane now.

I was in Morley last Christmas the main town seemed to be stuck in time but the area around the Showcase cinema seamed to be under some remodling

I'm new to the site after looking for information and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a 7 page thread about Yorkshire, especially with so many good comments about Sheffield.

I'm from Rotherham myself but lived in Sheffield and I'm a big Wednesdayite. I've only been over here 2 months so not missing home THAT much yet. We'll see how that goes over the next couple of months though.

I met a certain someone whilst teaching in South Korea, stayed together when our times over there were up and have been travelling between here and there ever since until we got married in October. Now we're working on changing my visa over.
