Re: Who is from Yorkshire?
I thought this site might appeal to some of you for a taste of 'home'. I'm buying my American partner a couple of yorkshire inspired t-shirts for when i experience my first christmas in the USA! http://yorkshireteestore.mysupadupa.com

I've got a Yorkshire tea/Yorkshire lad tshirt on its way for Christmas too. I'm hoping to wear it to the Arctic Monkeys gig in Feb - that or my SWFC shirt

Its funny, my partner loves british souvenirs and has a house full of union jack stuff to remind him of me being in the UK. I have bought a Detroit tigers top to wear while i'm in the UK! I bet when I move i'll be taking lots of Yorkshire memorabilia!

I always find myself wearing American stuff when I'm at home and English stuff when I'm here. The first thing to go in my case when I pack later this week will be my NE Patriots shirt.

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?
I'm from South Yorkshire originally - and was there until I joined the Air Force at the age of 18. After that lived in other parts of England and eventually left for the U.S. ending up initially in Minneapolis (four years) then moved to southern California. This year is my 40th year in this country, way longer than I ever lived in the U.K. It's changed a lot and not for the better in many ways that I have observed.
Shame really. But it's true that you can't go back. Nothing is ever the same, is it?
Best,
Anne

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?
I was born in Rotherham and grew up in Doncaster. Left Yorkshire when I was 14 and have lived all over the blooming place since then but Yorkshire is still home. Going back for the first time in donkey's years in later September and can't bloody wait. Loads of old school friends to visit, including a mate who runs a B&B in Wensleydale. Was married to a soft southerner for 14 years, now divorced and would be tickled pink to meet a Yorkshire lad living over here. I need a good giggle. Fellow Yorkshire lasses, luv more mates to correspond with so welcome all responses.
Cheers,
Kate
