Re: Who is from Yorkshire?
Too far away Sue, I've just met one lady from Birmingham one time I was in GA, met by accident getting on the Marta , I heard her accent as we were getting our tickets , we spent the rest of our journey chatting together, we couldn't get enough words in to each other fast enough before the airport stop.

How about the national anthem for Yorkshire day? Nice brass band version to sing along to here!

I was a miner at Treeton pit back in the late 70's and Brassed Off really did capture the spirit of life in the mining community. It was so much better than the over hyped Full Monty. It really captured the spirit of towns and villages that were being killed off by the pit closures.

I loved the Full Monty, maybe it was the Music of that day.

I didn't mind The Full Monty as such, it was an okay film but it didn't really capture life as it really was at the time it was set, a few too many stereotypes really , whereas Brassed Off set the tone perfectly, hard times with no real future for those communities.

I just like to watch anything from the area where I came, it takes me back, the Music in both firms was good too, its all childhood memories for me and thats usually a good thing.
