Scots in Charlotte NC

Hello, I have just joined this site and would like to know if there are any Scots or Brits in the Charlotte area? Would love to make some new friends?

I'm in the area, English/Yorkshire, been here 12 years. My wife is USC, and we have an eight year old daughter. There is a Charlotte British club that I think meets down in your area (SC), but have never got around to going along. I always intended to. :o

There are, based on the cars I see, a lot of Brits in the area, but very few are BE members. I can only think of one other active member in the area, plus one who arrived just a couple of months ago.

If you would like to hang around on BE we might be able to snag a few more passers-by through the BE web site and get the sort of critical mass of BE members that they have in Houston to arrange some get togethers.

I'm not in Charlotte, I am further South near Charleston, but wanted to say hello to a fellow Scot. :)

Are you on Facebook? The British Club of Charlotte has a page. The Big Ben on South Boulevard is a bit of a hangout - there's a BABC event there on the 20th August. There's also UK expats in Charlotte page. You can organize an event through the page.

Just happened to see this, another Scot living just up the road from you in Steele Creek.

Decent "pub" for showing premier league football. IIRC it is aimed at Arsenal fans. Only been the once though.

I congratulate myself on my stupidity! You are right, I have a licence plate frame referring to rugby, although not an outright statement of Britishness, its close!!
