San Diego meetup July 2014
 

I think we're overdue a meetup in San Diego, and somehow I seem to have become the unofficial non-organizer...

Free weekends have been in short supply for me recently, but how would July 12th or 13th look? 19th is Pride so that's out for me, but I could do Sunday the 20th. Maybe. Then I'm off to Finland for a bit, back in August, but happy to have someone else call the meetup too.

First concrete suggestion: Saturday, July 12th. Early afternoon, same deal as before - somewhere with beer, non-beer, food, and hopefully space for a random-sized group. Suggestions welcome, if it's up to me we'll likely be somewhere in North/South Park again.

On an unrelated note: Spamalot outdoors in Vista. I'm going with a few friends this Saturday (28th), if anybody wants to join us send me a PM.

HI,

I just wanted to let you know we've been away for a few weeks due to a family bereavement hence the lack of reply. August may be an option for us I will keep you posted.

This month kind of works for me too. The later in the month the better.

Shakespeare's in San Diego or Churchill's up north? I think its still open.

Either works for me. Shakeys is more convenient, but also louder and the food is pricey. Although the Shoppe is good :)

Very sorry to hear that Gilly.

My August weekends look a bit messy. There's a good chance I may be able to join, but things are uncertain enough that I can't really organize anything. Wouldn't want to call a meetup and then not show up myself...

Not a huge fan of Shakespeare's food or drinks, but it's a good space and very conveniently located for me so wouldn't exactly object. Haven't been to Churchill's.

Would be nice to have a meet up in a different area. How about the first weekend in Sept 6th or 7th?

(ETA Not on here so much these days (and I noticed others were pretty slow to reply) so it might be worth tacking on to the old thread as it would send all the previous poeple who met up notifications.)

Weekend of the 20th should work, but I won't know for sure until about the day of. To make my life more interesting I'm in escrow on a house, and should be closing early-mid September. By the 20th the deal should be done but that might mean I'm dealing with all the other fun that comes with an 85-year-old house. :)

So probably yes, but I wouldn't count on me to do anything useful...
