moving to Marinette,WI

Are there any Brits around Marinette, WI ? I will be back there in October and would love to meet, maybe bring some tea bags over for you. Getting married early next year and moving to Marinette to stay and I would appreciate hearing your stories on how easy/hard it was for you to get married/move to the states/settle in the area. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Kind regards Tim

Hi Tim,
I live in Ripon ,WI, which is about 2 hours south of Marinette (which is just around the corner in US terms). I'm not familiar with the Marinette area, but I'll gladly try and help with any questions you have about the Badger State.
If you like cheese, beer, shooting things and American Football (we're the 'World Champions' if you didn't know!!) then you'll settle in here no problem. I would recommend you bring your thermals in October as that is the start of the 'damn it's cold season'.
Regards, Stuart.

Hello Stuart, many thanks for your reply. "Damn, its cold season" yep, but its one of the reasons I love WI, you get REAL seasons and as for "world champions" with a future mom-in-law like mine its GO PACK GO all the way lol. Best Regards Tim

Re: moving to Marinette,WI

Tim, welcome to Wisconsin ! I have lived here since 1976....never got used to it here, but then I was a reluctant immigrant , born in Liverpool. As for the tea bags, bring them and stash them for yourself. A box of 80 PG Tips tea bags cost almost $9 ! I live in the very S Eastern corner of the state, near Lake Geneva, a few miles from the Illinois border, but I have been up and beyond Marinette, very nice but a bit remote but definitely Packer, brats, cheese and beer territory. Best wishes to you.
