Smile Brits in NYC

Hi team,

I'm sure there have been many threads on this topic, however they must be at least a few months old.

I moved to NYC a few months ago and it would be great to meet some fellow expats to share experiences with. Do you know if there is a 'meet up' soon? Or do you know of any other websites that may be able to help?

Thanks a lot for your help. Happy New Year!

Alex

If you're a football fan I'd head down to the football factory on match days. I know theres a decent group of Sheffield Wednesday fans go there

There's a group of us British Universities Alumni that meet up on the second Tuesday of the month. It's normally at a bar in midtown - I don't know the location for this month yet, but can let you know.

Also, there is the St George's Society (http://www.stgeorgessociety.org/george.html) and I've attended a few of their rowdy events which are always fun.

My husband ventures down every now and again to meet his fellow Owls. He's very proud of his "New York City This City is Ours" t shirt.

I'm fairly new to NYC and I haven't had much time to socialise in the last two years but it would be great to meet some fellow Brits in the city. I understand there is a monthly meet organised by Big Apple Brits, well at least there was a year or so ago!

We are moving to NYC in July - and Queens may be an option (or specifically Long Island City).
Current options seem to be Hell's Kitchen, Murray Hill & Long Island City.

So - we actually ended up in Long Island City - Hell's Kitchen and Murray Hill just didn't tick enough boxes in the end.

Is anyone in the LIC area - days are long whilst waiting for my EAD, would always but up for meeting up with follow Brits for coffee or beer

I moved up to White Plains after two years in Murray Hill and love it.. There's a great Expats meetup in NYC next week run by the George Society and others.

Looks good - do you need to enter teams in advance, or is it just turn up on the night?
