Bonfire Night in LA

Anybody in the area aware of a meet-up of some kind? I remember this came up last year, and there were a few events. Just looking out for possibilities as nobody I know actually knows what Bonfire Night is.

Do you mean "LA" as in "Los Angeles" or "LA" as in "Louisiana?" FWIW, George Washington prohibited the celebration of Guy Fawkes day among his soldiers.

LA as in Los Angeles. Never did like George Washington much, haha!

Not having the reference to what you were referring to, I took a quick look at the Wikipedia article on the subject and the pic was from Louisiana!

That said, there is a large Catholic population here in L.A. -- you might be interested in a Dia de Los Muertos celebration a few days before. :D

Meh, Dia de los Muertos is alright. I've already done that though when I lived up in Washington State. It doesn't hold any personal meaning to me, whereas Bonfire Night does.

I only posted to see if there were any events going on in the Los Angeles area because I remember seeing several last year. I guess nobody's doing anything this year. O well. I'll just "Remember, remember the 5th of November" all alone.

LA has enough fires as it is.
