Anyone around in Central AR
 

Hello,
I saw a thread from 2014 where people in AR were meeting up at wee Betty's cafe in jacksonville, but I see on google it’s listed as perminantly closed now. Is anyone else still around?

I’m in Cabot so Jacksonville would have been nice and close! But I’m close enough to Little Rock and the surrounding areas. I have just moved here with my USC wife, we lived together in the UK a number of years but she missed her home and family so thought we’d give it a try out here.
So far I’m enjoying it, i’ve been here less than a week though :). The people here have been very nice so far and the local area and scenery are beautiful. My wife and I plan a trip to Hot springs for some R&R after all the stress of Visa and moving.

I look forward to hearing from anyone :) even if you live further out and wouldn’t be able to meet it would be great to here from people in a similar situation :)

Gareth, I'm here in LR....there are a few of us Brits in this area, but not many. Been here for 5 years now, it's fine but it'll never be 'home', really. Betty's Cafe is closed, as far as I know; we called in there once a few years ago, but it was expensive for what they served. Hot Springs is OK, about as good as it gets in this area. The best place to go within driving distance is Branson, MO, which has a lot of stuff for kids (huge amusement park up there called Silver Dollar City (Google it) which is well worth a visit).

Good to hear from another fellow Brit! If you're a football fan, we'll get along fine. :p

No problem mate. Like I said, there are a few of us in the LR area; most of the guys I know through football, but I'm sure there are others. LR is OK, not the best, not the worst.
