Any Brits in Rockland County, NY?

Hi there...
I've just introduced myself on the 'new members' forum, but wanted to ask if there are any Brits living in Rockland County, NY? Would love to 'connect' with you, if so!

Bella, just added a new post for a Northern NJ meetup. Promised to keep you updated so just chuck your 2 cents worth in and we will sort something out.

Thank you :) really appreciate it. I'm really surprised though that there's no one in Rockland County, as least not on here, lol! There is a big Irish community in Pearl River, in Rockland.....I wish there was the :fingerscrossed:same here!!

Hi there,

I lived in New City for 5 years. Whereabouts are you? We moved over the state line (sometimes feel like country line) to Bergen county 5 years ago and now live in New Milford. Most of hubby's family live in Rockland, so I am there daily. Nyack is a good night out. I've bumped into Brits there - usually in the Olde Village Inn.

Hi bev, where to live is majorly impacted by whether u have kids and have to think re schools. Lots of nice places in Bergen and rockland. Goshen is nice but very quiet and orange county is more rural. Warwick is nice town. Commute from there to montvale maybe a bit difficult in winter though.

I just looked in New Milford and I can see some nice rentals! Would it be a decent commute to Montvale and how are the schools, town etc?

Hi bev, Bergen county is pretty much built up, especially the nearer u get to Paramus. If u want less traffic, u might want to look at Passaic county. You could reasonably get to montvale from there. Ringwood, Oakland westmilford or ringwood may work?

I do like bergen but we are eventually hoping to move somewhere a little more rural. The schools are ok and people are nice but not much of a downtown. Nyack, piermont or new city in rockland all have nice downtowns. Also Westwood, ridgewood in Bergen county have nice downtowns. Some areas are pricey though.
