Any brits in orlando FL area?

Hey I moved here in September, married my American husband in November and was wondering if there are any brits in the orlando-Lake Nona area. I'm from the UK, South Yorkshire. Would be lovely to connect with some fellow Yorkshire folk!

I'm going to say yes, just a hunch. If not on here my advice would be to pop to a Walmart/Publix and just stand around for a bit, before long you'll spot an English person and you can go and say hi.

There's a Pub in the city of Orlando with an Irish sounding name that's frequented by 'local' Brits.

Iā€™m just about to move to Tampa on a K1 visa at the end of February, not quite Orlando but I do hail from lovely Rotherham!
Be great to hear how you found the move and how well your getting on out there? - maybe calm some of my nerves!šŸ˜…

Hi Chloe, my wife and I (both English) moved here in October from Nottingham (via a short stay up in Boston). We're currently living in Celebration but have been considering a move to Winter Garden in the near future.

We're loving it so far, and funnily enough we haven't actually stumbled upon any Brits living here yet.

How are you finding things? Someone recommended Lake Nona to us but then others said that you can hear the airport -- is that true?

Hey Chloe,
Welcome to the area - Where in S.Yorks are you from? I'm from Wath, and I live in Port Saint Lucie. Not exactly Orlando, but we go there occasionally.
How about you, Chill, where abouts in Rotherham?

That must be a different Rotherham from the one I remember!

I am from Sheffield (west side), but don't live in Florida, I just stopped in to say Hi! to you and Chloe.

Amazing my sudden new found links to Yorkshire. Here i am 15 years in the Orlando area after moving from southeast England only ever went there for soccer games (Leeds & Sheffield) Now my good friend has moved from our home town and resides in Leeds area. And my "cockney'wife (ex) left here some years ago and moved to be near her 'cockney boys' in Yorkshire!

Wife and I have recently moved from UK (Guildford, Surrey) to Oviedo. We're early 30's with a 1yr old daughter.

My Wife and I live in Winter garden, She's from Orlando and I moved here 5 years ago, I'm originally from St Ives, Cambridgeshire but I have family from Haworth, W Yorkshire. Not sure if it's the same one mentioned above but Fidlers Green is an Irish/British pub in Winter park and I always overhear other brits in there. There are good few of us out in the Winter garden area as I often overhear conversations. We have 2 young boys now so don't get out as much but we're still around Orlando :)
