Default Visa Job Title

I've been offered a job in Saudi but they say they don't have the correct work visa for me and when I apply for my visa I need to put down a different Job to the one I'll be doing (In fact it's in a totally different industry), my questions are if the Saudis find out about this can I be kicked out and can this impact on trying to get visas for other countries at a later date?

From what I hear, this isn't an uncommon practice. If they have filled their quota of visa's for a particular occupation, they need to put a different job title to get you a visa. I haven't heard of anyone being kicked out for this reason. As long as the 'fake' job title is appropriate it should be okay, as long as its a professional/manager title. Be aware that some job titles (eg driver) do not allow family to be accompanied on the visa. Make sure they give you a job title that is equivalent of your real job title if you know what I mean.

Thanks for that, Luckily I'm not planning on bringing the family across and will only meet up with them in UAE or Asia when I'm not back home, as the Job they've put is nothing like the job I do

In addition to the no family issue as mentioned certain visa designations are also not eligible for GCC visitor visas to for example Bahrain.

Not a huge problem if you're only going once in a blue moon, but you suddenly will have to pay whereas others get it for free so if you were planning to commute from Bahrain to Khobar/Dammam this can become a problem..

I have a lovely generic title in mine, Development Officer. Covers everything and says nothing.

Quite. I used to be the bland sounding 'operations manager'. Never did know what the title was supposed to involve.

No, but I always thought it sounded like a hospital title.
