Hi everyone, hoping to gather views on an offer I have recently received: Central AD employer (very well established prestigious AD employer doing a Senior Manager role) Total monthly package including salary and housing: 44 AED plus possible bonus. Education allowance of 65K AED per child. Annual ticket allowance, quality medical insurance for family on top. Total is about 528K AED per annum plus education allowance and benefits. Two adults and one school age child moving.
Keen to know whether this is a decent offer in the current climate, whether it is enough to save a decent amount, and whether moving to AD in current climate is recommended? Any views on cuts to salaries when in country, removal of allowances and general pros/cons welcome.
Many thanks, for your help in advance.

You've posted this in the 'Job Offers' section so I'll move your thread to the Middle East jobs section, where I'm sure you'll get some good advice.
HTH, good luck.

Quite, it's a'ight but it's not great. How many ranks between a Senior Manager in this organisation and the C-level? What's the housing allowance component? Depending on the employer, I would view that as "at risk of adjustment" and again, depending on the employer, don't expect any negotiated result. It will simply be a fait accompli.

Just finished a c. 3 year stint in AD; from the way you are describing your package and the numbers it feels like I can almost guess who the employer is because its pretty much identical to what I was on lol. Rents have dropped massively in AD over the last few years and will have dropped even more now (I left a few months ago). Given you have one child that 65k per child is actually very good compared to what many packages now give. Depending on how old your child is, it shouldn't put much of a dent on your overall saving ability etc. AD is not like Dubai in that it isn't a bling bling city where the external environment is geared to make you spend spend spend (its far more grown up, laid back and relaxed). Saving is all down to you and how you manage your finances, but from my experience on that package you should be saving a decent amount monthly.
