Some Q's RE: obtaining a work visa for Kuwait
 

Considering an offer and never been to Kuwait. Got a few questions for those with prior experience:

1) In a non-holiday period, once you go to the Kuwaiti Embassy back home with all the relevant documents, what's the average processing time to get a work visa?

2) Would you employ the services of an agent in the UK? At which point in the process? (If you already have a notary you could use for certificates but need to get a medical and a visit to the embassy)

3) Does the medical have to be performed in the UK or could it be in another GCC country where you currently reside? (Would it then need some form of notarising locally?)

4) A criminal records check back home goes back ten years. Are you required to get further ones for GCC countries you may have lived and worked in for a few years that the UK one wouldn't cover? Or just leave a gap and let's face it, although we can't logically get a visa for the current GCC country we live in with a criminal record, logic doesn't necessarily work here.

My experience was that the Kuwaitis make their neighbours the Saudis seem shy retiring and bashful souls in comparison ! Good luck !
