Salary in Riyadh
Evening all,
After looking for jobs all over the Middle East my husband has been approached with a job in Riyadh working for a contractor on the Metro. It's a step away from building services and into rail which is a bit unknown for him. The job is a year renewable contract and in the package is a villa in a compound, flights, transport and salary. My question is the salary is to be negotiated and he isn't sure what his worth is in Saudi. Would a 30% uplift in his current pre tax salary be too high? He is also in contact for a job in Dubai but it's an all in salary but is 2.5 times his current post tax salary.
The other thing is it is a single status job. Im won't be coming with him for at least a year in which case the job could finish (although I think he will probably be kept on because it's such a huge project) but would like to visit, would this be possible? The person he is speaking to about the job said that although it is single status this could change in the future, is this likely? I don't like relying on the could incase I do want to join him.

Who will he be working for here ?
Strange that they would offer a villa in a compound but only single status.
Anyway the Metro will probably go on for about 15 years )

It's one of the main contractors from the FAST consortium. I know it's a bit of an odd one. I wasn't sure if he should be asking for more than he would get in dubai as it's SA and maybe a premium needs to be added to a dubai salary?

"villa in a compound" means he is sharing the villa with other bachelors

He won't be sharing that's a complete no for him so if it is which he needs to discuss with company then he won't go. I need to know what sort of salary he should ask for. Would a 50% uplift in his salary be completely delusional?
