And is there any way to over turn it?
If you have a ban you will need a NOC from the old company and the new company will have to pay a fee to life the ban this is the only way.

from experience, if your employer is amicable towards your resignation, you may get away with a 6 month labour ban which could be overturned with a NOC which they give you.

worse case scenario is the dreaded immigration ban ( 30 days to leave the country and a minimum one year ban on entering the country )

however if you are moving jobs and your new employer has "clout" within the UAE, they could possibly overturn any kind of ban...if that fails then you are faced with fighting your case with the immigraton and labour depts - and you can succeed ! good luck. foxes.

even if you have a Dubai Labour ban it should not be a problem if you get a Free Zone job.

I had a 6 month ban and got a visa from the DMCC without a problem
