I am getting very worried - over the past few weeks I have seen more and more job adverts in the construction industry for quite senior positions at ridiculous packages. For example a chartered QS in Doha for GBP 40 - 60,000 per year + car, mobile phone (great), flights and medical. Take at least QAR 7,000 per month for accommodation and that's GBP 15k per year off your pittance before you start eating or wearing new clothes.
I know the O&G sector has dramatically downsized in the past 12 months but the UK construction industry is reasonably bouyant at present.
So is there suddenly be an oversupply of QS's too afraid to go back to the UK, or did someone mean to say QAR 40 -60,000 per month?
