If you wanted better info, should ask better questions...the answer you get will depend if you're only got a few years experience v 20 years and all that guff.

Quants are highly paid computer programmers who sit in the basement of investments banks. They busy themselves by making (mostly wrong) computer models for automated trading and risk analysis. Mostly a male dominated industry where lunchtimes are spent studying the female reproductive organs in medical textbooks.

OP>>> 200k is some serious change - including the allowances I'm guessing a 50% uplift on your job in London. Watch for bonuses though - the culture might not be what you are expecting...
