Hi there I have been offered a job as SR.Civil engineer in Qatar and the total package is this:

Monthly Salary :US$ 2,500
Paid Leave :27days +3 days holiday per year
Travel Expenses :Economy class roundtrip ticket during yearly vacation only
End-of-service (gratuity) :Included in salary package
Initial Contract Period :One (1) year (extendable upon agreement by both parties after the first year period)
Probationary period : 3-6 months
Accommodation : Single Room
Transportation : Will be provided by (from Accommodation to Office & vise versa)
Health Card Company paid health card

I am US citizen with 15 years of USA experience and this is way bellow my expectations....
Maybe I'm wrong...

Go no where near it , as the O.P said you need to Quadruple the salary and rocket the benefits .

Ive got supervisors on a better deal than that .

I declined this offer right away; my fixed monthly expenses are over $1,000 …
I wanted to hear some thoughts from other expats.
Terms were really nasty: Single room (maybe in some shoebox), transportation is probably small bus w/o AC, no private health insurance…
