Just looking to network and make connections especially in Bahrain or UAE, looking to relocate and work/live in the Gulf when I leave the Royal Navy next year.
I spent just over 12 years in Bahrain growing up (79-94) and now I am looking to move back to the region with my family.
Any helps tips or guidance would be great
Cheers
Neil

Mike
Thanks for the reply, I am a Leading Seaman Specialist in the Royal Navy so I have lots of experience in small boat operations, security afloat and ashore plus a lot of training deliver and manpower management.
Not sure how to but would be more than happy to send you a copy of my CV for you to have a look at, even a bit of advice on how to tailor it to the Mid East market would be appreciated.

I am sure you will get a link somewhere to something. The ME is full of ex forces in civvy jobs (though beware ALL are ex SAS, SBS or Nuclear submarine commanders/Captains or whatever the Matelot term is and no one ever was bog standard. You may wish to change your post where it mentions that as such)
Good luck.
Good luck.

UPDATE - Just to make things clearer
I am a Leading Seaman Specialist in the Navy and I am wanting to to try and find work in the marine environment (Small boat stuff), but I spent a tour on a training team in Iraq and found I A)enjoyed B) was good at teaching and development so plan to use my resettlement to gain formal accreditation in training. I am also going to qualify in Health and Safety and if the money stretches far enough do an ROV course.
As you can see I am trying to cover a few bases and put myself in a position where I have a diverse skill set. I have plenty of experience from the Navy but unfortunately while the experience is transferable the is no formal civilian qualification.

ok - that makes it easier. there's relatively big money in "personnel development" coaching / training, telling people how to tell their staff that they are f*****g idiots and go and do the f****g job without getting fired yourself. ex UK forces apparently quite popular as the companies seem to like the management style. (yes, I see the dichotomy).
