I see in other posts that you were considering a job in Selangor ? Is his family sending him to Malaysia to study ? Our posts here are not malicious but show that we are concerned about you and your plans.

One explanation could be that the religious lovers were trying furiously to find a place where they can be together after he finished his English language course in NZ. Saudi students go normally to either NZ or Malaysia to learn English. Most likely he tried to convince his family to go to Malaysia (upon returning from NZ ) pretending he want to study English more but in fact just to be close to her. Then his family knew the trick and refused to allow him to go to Malaysia.
Now the Miss is trying her luck to find a job in the gulf.

On the plus side, all the foreigners I know married to Saudis have been in long lasting marriages. A few Americans and a few Thais. Not exactly a broad spectrum but it's something.

close... but he wanted to study accounting or IT. They didn't want us to be in the same city together for so long. Dubai or Bahrain they are ok with as it would not be so often.

In the event of you indeed marrying your Saudi boyfriend and having children, you need to be aware that in the event of a marriage breakup the Saudi partner will be given full custody of the children if you live in the Middle East.

well considering that neither of us believe in divorce and would never consider that as an option, its extremely unlikely to happen. Also we are not going to live in Saudi

Not too many people enter marriage expecting divorce but it happens - also I did say Middle East, not just Saudi.

I mean we don't believe in it. We have been taught to work differences out. If we marry once we are expected to not marry again, even if we divorce. If we entered into another relationship after marriage we would be shunned by family. "Til death do us part" is actually part of the vow...

WOW! I had completely forgotten what it was like to be 19. OK we have moved far far away from the original subject of the thread. Therefore I am locking it, if anyone has any sensible job opportunities PM the OP.
