Default Nakheel Lay Offs

One of my mates got laid off last week with a batch of others, Waterfront etc, my mate was in admin and just signed a one year lease with the landlord. I notice this culling has not been announced to the press...

It's unbelievable that these greedy LL are still demanding two - four cheques, who knows if they will have a job in three months time let alone 50.000 AED to pay for an apartment... Still i had a drive around the Ranches yesterday, scary number of empty villas up there, prices should keep tumbling...

I heard the same about Nakeel and of course Laing O'Rourkes, tough times ahead. Rents will drop right down to what they were 5 years ago, here's hoping.

Not surprised it's not in the press - bad news doesn't get reported here. LOR, Dubai and ALOR, Abu Dhabi have just issued yet another statement about more redundancies! Then the next day you read in a UK publication that the Chief Operating Officer for LOR Middle East is moving back to UK - talk about a sinking ship......

what they are paying off their staff, must be where the money is, because they are not paying any of their clients bills

Lmfao,
shuwa I think some of my mates working at LOR would disagree with some of that and the other articles by LOR

Dont see any redundancies etc.

Will pass on to my mates for a read

I must be in the minority working for a company that doesnt bull shit its employees

It's mushroom management at LOR and ALOR - best of it is that Norman signed the letter dated 25th March telling people there would be MORE redundancies! Sounds like they will have more directors than staff in AD soon.

Spoke to a few mates at ALOR today and not one of them had heard about Norman gapping it.
What a shambles it is

Here is a very good article from building magazine that explains the problems that firms are having in getting paid:
