Which could mean a million and one different positions.

You want to clarify? That way you will get a better answer.

The 40K is about correct for a construction design engineer and your only big outlay is accommodation which will be about 10/12K per month.

The salary package is fine but it's Doha  so no you can't have a decent life :p

Try using the tools available on here mate they are pretty good
40k as long as you are taking into account housing cars etc
Also schooling?

Doha is expensive but an apple from spinneys doesnt cost 10k QAR

Could you live on that salary back home? If you can then you can in Doha

I have friends who are on 20k and are living a decent life out here

Hope that helps

it doesnt include the housing 12k, standard
car allowance3k, if not included in basic, then good
schooling is 25k per child, might not be enough - you need to research yourself how much you need
bonus is 4 months , discretionary or guaranteed? end of year service?
furniture allowance is 80k, very good
business class flights, once per year return for you and all your family = good; in-out only = standard
basic holidays 35 + public holidays, good
recreAtion allowance is 10 k a year, use this to improve your spelling :D
full medical cover...thats basically the split..what are your thoughts on this ..is it worth taking?only you can answer that

;)
