Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
Mine hacked my facebook account...
True. The HR woman admitted it to me, explaining that her brother was a hacker. She explained it had happened before I formally accepted the job. I was speechless but she was pretty relaxed about it. I know they never checked any referees though... |

Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
For psychometric tests enthusiasts, I just passed them recently and believe me guys, you'll need to prepare for them. 4 parts: abstract reasoning (diagrams, etc), calculation (kind of basic) and verbal (the most challenging). You don't have a lot of time so get prepared by doing a lot of examples online, or borrow/buy a test book, that'll do you good. I'm still waiting for my security clearance ( 1 month and a half now). Does-it usually take that long for ADIA? Do they really check everything (credit check, employers...)? they never called my referees...

As you may be able to gather, I'm eccentrically ecstatic of the chance of working at ADIA (although that helps little). As you are a believer in Karma  , how great would it be of you to be able to advise me of what the 'business simulation' element of the Assessment I have next week entails. Also are there any websites that have similar phsychometric tests, so I can practice? And finally how is the interview? What kind of technicle questions are asked (if any), and is it competency based? Any other advice would be very much apreciated!! :) |

Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
I don't know about the 'business simulation' element of the Assessment you will have next week, I didn't go through that part.
For psychometric tests, there are plenty of them. I suggest you buy a book, one that I used is Ultimate Psychometric Tests by Mike Byron. It's a good one and should be useful. I passed through a ton of interviews. Questions were standard about my qualifications, expectations, etc. Nothing extraordinary. Just be confident and keep relaxed. Good luck |

Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
Hello,
Has anyone had any of the following beside pshychometric assessment at ADIA? -in-tray exercise -presentation based on provided material -group discussion -report writing -role playing If you have, what type of position did you apply for? Thanks in advance:) |
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
Just a comment on ADIA, they're very process driven, they have committees for everything.
And finally, by market cap they are bigger than Microsoft and Exxon Mobil COMBINED. |

JOB IN ADIA
Dear all, i was surfing the internet and the BE forum, finding various threads from people who got offered a job in ADIA, asking about the salaries and so on... but surprisingly i never saw any job advert or any hint on how these people got this job offer. May be you can help to understand the job market in Abu Dhabi and where to search for job openings to work for ADIA. I am in the start of my career currently working in M&A in Dubai, however wanted to move back to equity analysis, so I thought ADIA would be right place for me. please heeeeeeeeeelp to solve this mystery :banghead:

Re: JOB IN ADIA
If you want to work for a particular company why don't you approach them?
|
Re: JOB IN ADIA
You can load up your CV on the website.
Most people seem to have been headhunted. |
Re: JOB IN ADIA
Hey Nutty, depending on what you specifically want to do in ADIA, I know quite a few people who work there, most are not in the equities department. Drop me a pm with more details, I may be able to point you in the right direction, then it's up to you.
If you look on LinkedIn of course, there are shed loads of individuals on there who already work there, can't be too tricky to work out their email addresses.... Can it? |

Hi,
How long does the interview process at ADIA usually take, from first contact to actually having a contract in hand? Thanks, WH |

Thanks, WH I went there one week after a telephone interview, then they took my photo and photocopies during the face to face interview.. Offer was made the following week.....so three weeks end to end. It all boils down to the following: How urged the placement is How much weight the hiring manager has over HR The Job role you are applying for |

I have a question for you... I have secured a job in Dubai and now we need to get something sorted for my husband. He has corporate finance and credit structuring experience (so overall a good fit I'd say for a SWF type role) how would be the best way of getting these guys attention? We are currently based in London and had some pretty awful experience with recruitment guys in UAE. I would really appreciate some feedback as I don't want to go out there alone!! Thanks:) |

So I need 3 posts for PM to work... here goes!

Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
So this thread was going for quite a long time and although it has paused for a while, I expect it will come back to life shortly as ADIA are starting a spat of expat hiring in certain areas.
Dono, or anyone else that went through the ADIA process on this thread - how did it go? Dono did your screening go without incident in the end? |
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
Hi, just bumping up my last post - am very interested in the final stages of the process if anyone can let me know how it panned out for them - I am now booked in for the psychometric assessment so any info that could be shared about the process post passing the assessment successfully i.e. the visit, the screening, the CID check etc, would be gratefully received.
|
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
To paraphrase Groucho Marx (or was it WC Fields?):
"I wouldn't work for any firm that thought I was worth assessing psychometrically..........." |
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
It can take a while. My husband was offered a job 3 weeks after his visit and that was a month after his testing. From job offer to landing in AD took 4 months and that was with a 1 month notice period.
|
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
I know for a fact that they are hiring high level (Senior Management) IT people with specific knowledge/experience of banking and financial applications. If anyone needs any other info PM me.
|
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
The door seems to be revolving at an ever greater speed there..................
|
Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
Thanks Al Dente, I know they have looked to streamline the process a little but understand things can still take a while - are you guys glad you made the move?

Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
That's what we were thinking Al Dente - another quick Question - you said your hubby got an offer 3 weeks after your visit - how long did the background checks take and then the CID checks? I would love to get us out there before the new tax year in the uk :-)
