Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Hi,

This is commented on earlier in the thread - essentially, the test center will email you some information closer to your appointment date so you won't be completely in the dark and once there, you are given 15 minutes before each simulation to prepare as well - it wouldn't be fair to the process to say more than that but it is nothing to be concerned about and you will have plenty of information to hand to be prepared - just be yourself.

Dear all,

I'm thinking of applying to jobs at ADIA. I wonder if you could help me?

I'm working in London in sell-side research but I'm thinking of moving to the UAE to be closer to family. Me and my wife have one kid and another on the way and we want to be closer to her parents - they have been living in Dubai for 10 years.

I haven't contacted any companies yet, or headhunters, but ADIA looks interesting given their size. Can anyone give me some colour on ADIA and the recruiting process:
- Who should I approach first - Headhunters or the company directly?
- Does everyone have to go through these psycho-tech tests? The only time I did it was when I was just out of uni - 10 years ago...
- any colour on how is it to work at ADIA? Is it very political? How is the life style? How is the work structured (e.g. what teams are there)? How much is done in house vs. using the sell-side?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You'd need to switch to buy side research and all interviewees have to do the psych testing.

Is 'colour' the new buzzword?

Hi Al Dente,

Many thanks for your reply. Do you work for ADIA? If so, any chance we can have a chat about it via email/messenger/Skype/phone call?

Thanks,

Hugo

Does anyone know where ADIA offers housing in Abu Dhabi. Are there villas as well as apartments on their list?

TIA

Hi All,

I am a professional based in the US and will soon begin the recruitment process at ADIA. I have been told that I will be undergoing the psychometric testing battery. Would any of you know where this test would take place for someone based in the US? Additionally, I read many posts about using practice tests found online, are there any that you would recommend which are similar to the ones being used by ADIA, i.e. Ultimate Psychometric tests by Mike Byron? What is the level of difficulty on these tests for an average individual? Lastly, how long is the recruitment process? I was employed at PIMCO for almost 8 years and am very interested in working with ADIA.

Thanks in advance.

Nia,

Can you please shed some light on the psychometric testing portion? I'm fearful of the tests as I have never come across something of that nature. What's the best way to prepare and what sort of sample tests did you use to study? Any guidance will be much appreciated. Also, with regards to your interview, what types of questions did you encounter?

Thanks - Mike
