So tell us about your experience then, I am a medical doctor myself and looking for opportunities in Qatar.....is it worth it all in all? Any recommendations before I apply?

Thanks,

It depends, why you want to come here.. and where are you coming from?
At Hamad Hosp, they need consultants, mostly UK/USA trained etc. in Primary care they recruited a lot of GPs from western world, now they are looking for Arabis speaking GPs. (with MRCGP/ USA degree).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tihami, I'm a considering applying for work in Qatar, qualifiying as a GP next July in UK. You say the salary was 21000 QAR, is that weekly or monthly? Is this the general rate over there? Looking forward to earning tax free. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

Mister-G.. I think its better if you complete ur VTS and then work as GP for 2-3 years in UK before u start applying for jobs in Middle East.

If you bother to look on this site, rather than expect others to wipe your arse for you, there is an 'Is it worth it?' page on the top of the middle east page, that explains costs for UAE and Qatar.
