Sorry I forgot to ask if anyone knows about the PHCC 21 clinic, it's 8 hrs shift for 5 days with 2 days off. What's a typical day, how many pts are seen, any break, additional work etc. does it include weekend nights or is it just day service and can you choose location out of the 21 clinics. Thanks

My impression was that you work 12 and not 10 hour shifts.

You start 6am to 6pm for 2/7 followed by 6pm to 6am for 2 days.

Then you have 3 and 1/2 days off

Week end is Friday and Saturday over there but if does not count if you do mobile doctor

Thank you it doesn't sound like something I would like to do I don't like shift works that keeps changing and includes nights. I preferred to work during day which means working for PHCC clinic which is8 hrs for 5 days but not sure if this also include night shifts. It include free accommodation does it include utilities and broadband or is that excluded and if how much it would usually cost? Thanks again

Can any family doctors that have moved to Qatar give me any tips.

Have applied for a family physician post having worked as a GP in UK for 9 years.

Have been offered accommodation, fuel, utilities, return flights once a year, kids schooling!

Oh and the tax free basic plus 50% bonus.

Is this too good to be true?

Any GPs who have made the move would appreciate any advice.

What about the medicolegal situation if something went wrong?

Would a GP have to do some A&E like work?

Is everyone happy after moving from Blighty?

We moved to Saudai and stayed for just over three years. Got a much better package than yours. Lived in Jeddah. Long time past.

Hi guys,

I am another GP who received an offer and it is less than my expectations.

Any room for negotiation and for those who are there, is there any room for progression.

Many thanks
