Hi,

I'm hoping for some advice.

I've recently qualifed (CA) with one of the Big 4 in the UK and have the opportunity to move out with the same firm to work in Dubai - this would be in audit also. I currently specialise in Oil & Gas.

Does anyone have advice or similar experience? i.e. Pay / conditions, or is this is good idea in terms of career progression and experience?

I've been to Dubai before and have friends that work there and I really like the place.

Any advice etc would be well appreciated.

Pay - dreadful
Conditions - dreadful
Advancement - poor

But, there is good news - you'll leave after 6 months and get a proper job at a client and earn some cash.

All depends if you believe in yourself.

Use it as a stepping stone to get out of the UK, and then into an operator, contractor or service company in the oil & gas industry out here. If you're any good that shouldn't be too difficult, things are very buoyant here just now.

Thanks for the advice, I had suspected the pay and conditions were poor based on some other people's comments to me.

I'm aware of the salary levels in various Oil E&P and Service companies, which are quite attractive therefore I am still considering
