Hi Guys I am currently living in Australia but I am seriously considering a move back to Dubai where I was raised.

I am a mechanical engineer specialising in pumps so I don't think I would have a lot of issues finding work in Dubai however all the job websites seem very hard to navigate round and are pretty user unfriendly? or am I looking on the wrong ones?

Can anyone offer any advice on what's the best way to go about looking for a job in Dubai?

Same as anywhere else. In the following order of priority:

Network.
Network some more.
And some more.
Have a tip-top CV.
Use recruitment agencies.
Apply directly to employers.

The major pump manufacturers have a presence in the UAE. One in particular will consider westerners only for field service engineer positions. However, all the NOCs and oil majors, as well as some of the big EPCs, need properly-trained pump specialists, so you have plenty of targets.

Please get yourself registered on UAE job sites like Bayt.com, monstergulf.com, naukrigulf.com, charterhouseme.com etc., You can also look at sites like Gulfnews.com (the local news paper)

Hi,
Im new to this forum so apologies if Ive written in the wrong place lol !! I applied for a position with an Estate Agency in Dubai but they have asked for 85 Canadian dollars before they proceed with my application. This is with Dubaijobs.net - has anyone ever dealt with this agency....is it the norm to pay an agency when looking for work?

Don't ever pay any consultant in Dubai, consultants aren't supposed to collect any kind of payments from job seekers as per the rule in UAE. If they are asking for money, be sure they are fraud.
