Average salary for Petroleum Engineers in Qatar
Hi there,
I have been offered a salary of around 35000 QAR monthly (including all allowances). I have a masters degree in Petroleum Engineering and have 3 yrs work experience. I was wondering if this is a good salary for living in Doha or have any of you guys seen people getting paid more for a similar profile/experience in an oil company.
Thanks,
Matthew

3 years is still at graduate/trainee level, and you would be incredibly lucky to get this opportunity. It's not rock star wages, you won't afford a villa or a fancy car, but you're basically a graduate recruit. You shouldn't expect rock star salaries at this stage of your career. Well, if you do... whatever.

Thanks for your reply. I wont be getting a 35000 QAR salary. It includes all the allowances (home, car, travel etc).

Sigh. If you really are so thick that you cannot understand what I have written then (a) god forbid that you actually are in charge of anything important and (b) take the package if you have already been offered it because as sure as the earth turns you will not get a better package if you have to go for interview in person!
Sigh.

If you think his (total) package is exceptional, then you really need to get out more and look at what the market is offering experienced (with an "e") hires.

Yes - he asked, I replied, he corrected me unnecessarily. With that kind of attitude, he's got to be careful.

Never said his total package is exceptional
Why have you sent a link to a thread with a different job offer and relating to someone with more experience?
Are you trying to say the more experience you have the more money you should probably earn??
Thank you for explaining life to me
Also in your post above you mention the people that you know have 15 years experience in O&G earn 35000 riyals with package on top
The people i know with 15 years in this industry would tell you that if thats what you are earning then you have been doing something far wrong for 15 years

I'm not entering a pissing contest with you. I just simply don't care enough.
I replied to you through politeness, as I had just returned from holiday. My mistake.
