It's bad enough driving a LHD here - can you imagine trying to drive a RHD one here Also your AC would probably not be up to the job - a lot of cars have different specifications here to cope with the heat, humidity etc.

You cannot import/drive/register a RHD car here so I'm afraid it's a non-starter. If you are planning to dune bash or do desert driving (and if your hubby doesn't have a job it may be a pastime for him when you are at work - one of our friends' out of work husbands came out on a 100km dune bashing spree with us today) then you are better sourcing one here - it's not too difficult to buy a good second hand 4x4 if you know what you are looking for, and there are newsgroups etc with for sale items listed.

There is a good expat community in Al Ain, and we all help each other, even in the early days when we don't know you we will still try to help you if you need us!

rhd cars are not allowed here to drive, you have to get a special licence, and usually they only allow "vintage cars" etc
