I'm on Salam street (although for how much longer I do not know) and my lease is 4 years old now.

However, a guy at work picked up a 4 bed on the corniche (with sea view, pool, parking and gym) for 200k about a month ago off the market so there are deals to be had for sure.

Thanks for that EM. That sounds promising. Did he use an agent? I havent started looking seriously at the mo but my lease is up on Nov. 1 and keen to see what my options are. Many thanks.

Interesting first posts ! Confusing or what. I think the ALOR JV is long gone so there can't be any more redundancies to make! Their website is now disabled although as is usual in this part of the world no formal statement has been made and infact ALDAR deny it in recent articles in Construction Journals.

Yes there are still a few left working on claims and bits of the Al Raha project that had already started ( infastructure and one of the precincts) but I understand that these are due to finish soon.

The "smartie" is finished now and ALDAR are looking for tenants. I think they will only be abe to attract government backed companies though as whole floor lettings are better as there are problems partitioning space on the floors due to it's design! Doesn't seem to be much progress on the rest of Al Raha Beach except for Al Bandar which is due to finish soon and LOR were on that one so that's why you still see some LOR employees around.

LOR is finished in Abu Dhabi - they will not win another piece of work and their project office (which I visited a week ago) is a ghost town. What a total shambles......
