Advice Required - Job offer in Doha Qatar

Hi Guys,

Urgent Advice Required!!!

I have been offered a job in Doha working in events management, they have offered me a package deal of 18500 QR per month including:

-Accommodation Allowance
-Transport Allowance
-Basic Salary
-Furniture Allowance
-Full Medical
-Few other small benefits

The position is middle management, I am 27 years of age and I am not married.

Does this offer sound good or would you expect more, taking into consideration living costs, rent, utility bills etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Gareth

We did fine on QR 17k as a family of 4 but then we had no real expenses apart from petrol. Apartment, utilities, medical all included plus flights home. If the allowances are in addition to that wage all good, if not that is pretty terrible.

Hi Gareth

I would love to say go for it but i think you would find life in Doha uncomfortable on that. Perhaps you could get a flat share or a room in a villa for half the 10k freeing up 5k extra a month but at your age(same as me)you will want to go out and do things. Doing things cost money.
As mentioned above flights home etc have to be considered also.
You could live in Doha on that. But id be very very surprised if you could save anything.
Doing some calculations i would think 20k+ would be a much easier number to work with. Can you negotiate?

Any questions dont be afraid to ask

Villa and car QR6800 leaves you QR11,700

You can live on that with no liabilities at home quite fine, but I would push for more. Also depends on what the situation is like at home and if you can get a payrise or bonus included too after a certain period of time.
