Default Advice

Hi all myself and my girlfriend are looking for information on moving to Dubai, looking for information on how easy or difficult it is

my girlfriend is a swimming coach teacher, with over 20 years of experience
I am a emergency medical technician EMT with my local ambulance trust with 5 years of experience before this I was a police officer of 15 years
I would be looking to pick up work with the ambulance service, I have a level 7 diploma in emt and a level 3 in emergency driving, I am also working towards a assessor and teachers qualifications for my ambulance trust

any advise would be great as we both want to make a move away from the uk soon
thanks

I'd think again. I'm sure your salary in the UK is adequate, but a quick search on Google tells me that average salary in UAE for your line of work is around 1k GBP a month. Forget it. It's not going to work for you.

Ditto swimming coach. Even worse prospects in fact.

Both these jobs will be done by people prepared to work for a lot less than you will.

I would be looking at Oz, NZ, Can as viable options if I were you.

Pretty much echo what has been said above regarding Ambulance / Paramedic roles. The only chances that sometimes crop in Civil Defence or Ambulance (for a western expat) is in a senior role with a solid and long background with a specialised field of work and even that is rare.

Swimming coach would possibly be an option as part time role to bring in a little bit of extra cash if you were working full time.

Dunno - if your better half could get a good job in an international school that provides accommodation it could be do-able. Your skills may appeal to private security contractors or a Halliburton type (maybe I'm watching too much Homeland).

Good luck anyways
