Default Your suggestions Needed please help

I filed I-129F petition for my wife's K-3 visa from Chicago. I got the notice of
action but there was an error in that notice. The INS office put my name and alien
number under the applicant's name instead of my wife's name who is an Indian national
and the applicant and beneficiary. I tried calling the number listed in the notice of
action but MSC only has an automated message there. I wrote a letter to the INS
informing them of the error in the I-797 and attached a copy of the Notice of Action.
I mailed the letter to the address listed on the bottom of the Notice of Action. Can
anyone please tell me how would I know if INS has correctd that error? I mailed that
letter the very next day of the receipt of the Notice of Action but have not received
any acknowledgement from the INS. Your suggestions here would be appreciated.

First off if you have an alien registration number than you are not a USC and don't qualify to use the K-3. You must use the new V visa. Also if you are the USC, then you are the petitioner and your wife is the beneficiary.
